Gandi.net Comes Out Of Their Hole? Not!

Somehow, I kind of expected Gandi.net to call us after we
published this article about this "registrar," which has
thousands of "happy," normal, everyday customers...

http://www.sitesell.com/edge/backissues-053.html

But so what? All fronts have honest customers. That's why
they call them "F-R-O-N-T-S."

I mean, if you were an honest, legitimate, non-spamming
registrar, wouldn't you want SiteSell.com to "cease and
desist"? Of course, you would!

So why isn't a legal letter on my desk yet?

Because spammers don't like to be traced.

Because Gandi.net may be a whole lot worse than just a
"sloppy" operation that spammers use.

Because maybe they are a FRONT for a spamming op, including
the spam that has been joe-jobbing our good name, and me
personally, during recent weeks.

So what DID they do, in response to that article?

The joe-jobbing spam from them actually went up. If that's
their response, it kind of speaks for itself.

I urge you...

If you're a customer, boycott Gandi. Send them this article.

If you've received the spam, complain to Gandi and then to
ICANN and get their license revoked. The last EDGE tells
you exactly how to complain to Gandi.net and ICANN...

http://www.sitesell.com/edge/backissues-053.html

If enough people do it, we can eliminate them.

-----SIDEBAR-----
To Gandi.net -- I know that you know about
this because our clients, some of whom are
yours, too, tell me that they have sent the
article to you. We'll be glad to PUBLICLY
RETRACT EVERY WORD if anything here is
incorrect, and we'd love to work with you to
eliminate the spamming domains that are
registered with you.
-----SIDEBAR-----

Enough said on this issue. More disturbing is how easily it
can fool Brightmail's "vaunted" technology. We have yet to
get an answer from Brightmail as to why we're being
filtered. I will be e-mailing Enrique Salem, the President
and CEO of Brightmail, shortly, if they continue to drag.

But we'll talk about that, and much more, in this week's
major launch. The information in this product, and the
downloadable "Deliver My Mail Package" is worth at least
$100, but I want every small business to have and use this.

It will do more than help your business at an individual
level. Small business is clearly threatened. It's time to
stand up and be counted. If big business is allowed to get
away with the hijacking of e-mail, the Net is not a place
where I personally want to be anymore.

EVERYONE Is "Mad As Hell And Not Going To Take It Anymore"
The "Deliver My Mail" Program LAUNCHES!

I'm going to skip straight to the bottom line, because all the
content you need is on the brand new site that launched Sunday.

The bottom line?

This is the most important thing we've ever done. The future
of how you work online is at stake. YOUR BUSINESS IS AT RISK.

And it's time to start fighting back, or we're all going to
be hurting. Heck, many already are.

Let me tell you, I don't initiate a counter-measure like we
are about to start lightly. I hate major confrontations.
If you do, too, make an exception and do all you can to join
this and push as hard and as fast and as long as you can.

The goal? Responsibility and accountability by ISPs, mail
services, and filters that currently damage small business
as a result of "false-positives," don't care, and won't do
anything about it.

--

I swore 20 or so years ago NEVER AGAIN to get into a huge
fight with giant organizations. I led a doctor's mass
resignation (not a strike) over government failure (medicine
is run by government in Canada). The fight was to get
adequate equipment to save lives. It was long, stressful,
and very public... headlines every second day.

And we won.

Of course, we won. The issue was golden. The pressure was
intense -- doctors were ready to QUIT (not go on strike --
our reasoning was simple -- this was not a place to work).

Bad health care. Big government spending millions on office
renovations and equipment, and not a penny for the very
reason the pre-hospital care system existed... to save lives.

In my mind, the outcome was never in doubt, even though the
odds seemed stacked hugely against us. But the public
rallied. Actually, the public outcry was loud and intense.

And that, of course, is why we won (accurately stated, it's
the patients who won). Politicians care about votes.

There *WAS* one way we might have failed...

If the people who were at risk, the general public, didn't
rally, we'd be dead. Or, at the very least, some of the
public would be... a few every day, to be blunt. Literally
more than 20,000 over the past 21 years.

People often do NOT act until THEY themselves get hit. By
that time, it's too late. It's only human nature.
Dictators have taken advantage of "it doesn't affect me" for
millennia -- many of the world's largest, most infamous,
atrocities have occurred because public action never rose to
stop a movement at an early stage.

Back to our doctor's confrontation.

We managed to communicate the issue in short, sharp logic
that everyone UNDERSTOOD. No couching of language. No
politeness. We weren't rude or nasty, just plain and blunt.
The public got it. They spoke with all their might.

In the end, patients got what they deserved. Better care.

Was it worth the fight?

In the end, of course, it was. Because it did end up saving
lives. And it made government aware of the power of doctors
on health care issues. But I said "never again."

The stress and personal toll was too intense. I'm not cut
out for that kind of public fight. And since then, I've
carefully avoided the confrontations and pain of "activism."

Well, here's another life-threatening moment. Only THE LIFE
INVOLVED IS THAT OF YOUR SMALL BUSINESS. The issues
threaten all we've done over the past 6 years, levelling the
playing field for small business. But now, we are faced
with a major new watershed moment, one that will tilt the
playing field against small business profoundly, again.

Our response?

"Deliver My Mail" is a wonderful, free product that does
help small businesses, enormously, at an individual level.
But we must go way beyond that usual motivation, which is
why we are GIVING "Deliver My Mail" away...

Use it to spread our campaign to the average small business
person... and they in turn must spread it. And that must
grow until hundreds of thousands of businesses spread it to
millions of customers, all of whom must complain to the bad
ISPs, mail services, and filtering companies.

We must win this fight, gain the respect that small business
deserves... and then I can again say...

"Never again." Again.

--

Here's the big picture...

1) We understand that ISPs have to filter e-mail or their
clients would be swamped in spam. THAT is inevitable.

2) But it's UNACCEPTABLE that some (ex., Hotmail) won't
whitelist (even though they provide "safe list" tools), EVEN
at the specific request of customers.

3) It's uNACCEPTABLE when you can't get an explanation as to
why the mail is being filtered. The major filter that is
filtering much of SiteSell's e-mail is Brightmail...

http://www.brightmail.com/

We have been trying to find out from Brightmail for TWO WEEKS
why so much of our mail is blocked by them. They are even
blocking "golden island" mail servers that we reserve for
post-order e-mails and for 1-on-1 personal support e-mails.
There is no possible good reason for that.

-----

Enough is enough.

Let's put the blame and responsibility back onto the
shoulders of those who won't let the mail through. Back to
those who won't give reasons, so that a small business can
at least correct whatever the problem may be.

--

Today, we are launching the "Deliver My Mail" program. It
has two major components...

1) The information in the Web site...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/

This site is the "Ultimate Guide To Spam And Anti-Spam
Management." Every business needs this information. Those
who do not implement its recommendations will suffer.

But as I said, it's far more than that...

 >>>>> I give it to you for your promise
 >>>>> to give it to someone else, and so forth.

Tell them all about it, then send them to...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/

--

2) The "Deliver My Mail Package"

Follow its instructions and use its templates. You'll be up
and running in no time, with bullet-proof customers who are
on your side, your credibility stronger than ever, customer
support volume reduced and with OPEN lines of communication
via e-mail to your customers intact.

If your audience (or you!) take subscriptions to an e-zine,
sell anything, use forms, have affiliates, the "Deliver My
Mail" program will reduce your ongoing pain of being
filtered by 99%. It will bounce responsibility back to the
ISPs, where it belongs, and put extra pressure on the bad
ones who won't whitelist and who don't tell marketers "why".

At its most basic level, The Deliver My Mail program is a
comprehensive way to manage your business through the
labyrinth of e-mail, spam, and anti-spam. But there are
larger goals, too.

Much larger...

-------------------------------------
Spread The "Deliver My Mail" Program
-------------------------------------

Do NOT merely USE the "Deliver My Mail" program. Spread it
to others. They, too, will spread the word... to merchant
friends, and to customers. The potential is there to spread
the program to millions of small businesses and customers,
all of them spreading the story, complaining to the all
the bad ISPs, mail services and filters... and eventually
the press will jump on this.

So start that ball rolling...

Send your readers, visitors, audience, colleagues, friends,
relatives, yes... even Romans and countrymen, to...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/

Forcing BAD ISPs, mail services and filters to behave in a
cooperative fashion is Goal #1. We are ALL in the anti-
spam fight together. We hope they "get it." But if not...

I hope and pray that the same thing happens as what happened
20 years ago...

If enough small businesses and customers are "mad as hell
and not going to take it anymore," there will be a huge
groundswell of end-users COMPLAINING LOUDLY to the correct
place, where blame SHOULD be laid. And WHO is that?

Let's review the basic process, again -- it's so obvious...

STEP 1) A customer wants AND expects a piece of mail.
STEP 2) A non-spamming small business sends that e-mail.
STEP 3) The ISP filters it out.
STEP 4) The customer doesn't get the mail s/he wants.
STEP 5) The ISP refuses to whitelist the mail and/or
refuses to tell the marketing company what the problem is.

So who's to blame?

The ISP or mail service who is part of STEP #5. They are
NOT part of the solution -- they are a big part of the problem.

The final element of this program is...

-----------------------
A Class Action Lawsuit
-----------------------

Spreading the word will also allow us to prepare a massive
class action suit. Generally, I avoid lawyers like the
plague. Life is too short.

But this is too important. So...

When you spread the word, small businesses will come...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/

They will...

1) Take the "Deliver My Mail" Program home and implement it

2) Spread the word and build the pressure.

3) Complete a form to evaluate how big a class action
lawsuit could be mounted...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/deliver-my-mail-7.html

The more businesses who complete this form, and the more
information they provide (all totally private), the better
armed we are for a massive suit against those who damage us.

SiteSell will spearhead the suit. We will find a top law
firm to undertake this on your behalf. Normally, there are
no out-of-pocket expenses because firms normally take this
on a contingency basis (i.e., they retain a percentage).

-----

Let's boil it down...

1) Visit and implement "Deliver My Mail" for yourself...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/

--

2) Spread it aggressively. In a sense, it's not free. I
"sell" it to you for your promise to send every small
business person you know. So, pay it forward...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/

--

3) If you have already suffered damages (see the Class Action
Lawsuit page for details), complete the form...

http://deliver-my-mail.sitesell.com/deliver-my-mail-7.html

I, as President of SiteSell, am not willing to stay and see
the playing field tilted, again -- this time by big
businesses that make money from spam (to the detriment of
actually uniting and beating spam). And this time, not
even SBI! could reverse what big business could put in place.

We, the SiteSell team, are not willing to accept the current
and impending state of affairs.

Nor should you.

If enough marketers take a common action and implement
"Deliver The Mail," then abuse and neglect from the selfish
and irresponsible ISPs and mail services will disappear.
The future of our online small businesses depends on how you
use the information in this site. Yes, use it to help
yourself now and in the near future. But go beyond that...

Spread the word.

Stand up and be counted.
