New Addition To Search It!
I recently added a powerful new search to Search It!. I'm
already hooked on this, using it several times a day to get
a "quick fix" on whether a site is truly important or not.

TXT It! Launches (Yahoooooo!)
Yahoo! recently changed its Site Feed protocol (SBI! calls
those feeds "Yahoo! Sitemaps" to keep consistent with
Google). You now have to download (from Yahoo!) and upload
a text file to prove again that you are the owner of your
Web site.

What do I mean by "again"? In theory, the
presence of your Yahoo! sitemap should be
enough. After all, you are the only one who
could do THAT.
But they want an extra level of assurance
that you are who you claim to be... the
owner of your site. Uploading their
verification file gives them that
assurance... "again."

Since this file has to appear at the root level, we had to rush
a future WebFTP module into production...
TXT It!
TXT It! allows the direct upload of text files (ASCII files
that end in the ".txt" extension) to the root level of
your domain.
Its main purpose?
To upload the Yahoo! verification file required to
authenticate your Yahoo! sitemap. But you can also use TXT
It! for uploading a robots.txt file and for uploading
Alexa.com's info.txt file to keep Alexa informed of your
personal information.
The Text It! module is one more example of how SBI! lets you
focus on your business, while it looks after everything else!

The Importance Of BAM...
Raw Intelligence Is Over-Rated!
Raw intelligence is nice to have, but it's not the be-all
and end-all for achieving successful results with online
success... or life, in general.
Intelligence is over-rated. Worse still, it does a
disservice to the Top 5% of successful online business
owners who DO have it, and it makes the 90% of people who
form the big middle bulge of the bell curve feel "ordinary."
Here's why...
Our educational system measures us all according to
intelligence. THAT is just one of many skill sets. But we
are conditioned into thinking that it is the only skill set.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. Intelligence is
not even the most important one.
Passion and knowledge about a theme ("Brain") are important.
Attitude is important.
Motivation is important.
That's "BAM."
Intelligence helps. But I'll take a tortoise with a
full-tank of BAM over a hare with a half-tank, any day of
the week. (Occasionally, we see "smarter-than-thou's" wash
out of Site Build It! -- they do it right in front of our
eyes in the SBI! forums.)
In fact, the most successful people I know are not
brilliant. But they ALL have BAM.
Whether you are using Site Build It!, or any another system,
YOU are the driver. BAM is the fuel.
Free Web hosting does not do it for you... graphic design
does not do it... "up-in-one-day" sitebuilders do not do
it... even though other companies spend a ton of money on
Get-Rich-Quick advertising in order to convince you
otherwise. There is NO magic bullet for success.
Even SBI!, which provides...
o a natural, powerful process (C -> T -> P -> M)
o all the tools necessary to execute the process, and
o success, documented by verifiable, objective proof

... does NOT do it. SBI! merely provides the ability for
"ordinary" people to discover that they are far from
"ordinary." The people who "get it" have BAM, common sense
for doing business (that's all business is, common sense),
winning attitudes, etc.
They are able to develop new strengths and abilities that
they never dreamed they had (because no one ever asked).
They blossom. Their business grows. Their life changes.
Because THEY do it... with PERSISTENCE.

Bottom line?
There are an awful lot of people out there wondering why
they just can't move ahead in this world. They lack BAM,
not intelligence, usually.
Give me an average person with BAM over an "intelligent"
person without it any day of the week. That tortoise will
beat the hare almost every time.

I'll reference my parents as examples of what
I am trying to say about intelligence vs.
BAM...
My Mom never finished high school. She was
smart-clever, but not "intelligent" in a
school-marks sense. She would likely have
been a B student. But my mom had drive. BAM
leaked out of every pore. She drove me to do
better and be better.
She never really realized that she had BAM in
spades. Never had a chance to, not in the
business world anyway. But in today's world,
if she was a 30 year old stay-at-home mom,
she'd take SBI! and absolutely soar.
My Dad was a gold medal pharmacy school
graduate, the type of kid you'd look at and
simply marvel at the size of his intellect.
In pharmacy school, he tutored a dumb
classmate who went on to become CEO of a
large pharmaceutical company that bought the
company where my Dad worked at in middle
management until he retired. (He got lucky in
retirement -- made it to 93 years old and
loved puttering in his garden.)
Although he knew a ton about tennis,
gardening and anything you'd care to talk
about in pharmaceuticals, I doubt if he'd
have had the BAM to drive a successful Web
business. Now, I'm not saying intelligence is
of no value. As I said earlier, it's merely
over-rated.

Obviously, those with 4.0 GPA intelligence AND
Brain-Attitude-Motivation are going to do well with SBI!.
Heck, they'll do well with a calculator connected to the
Net. SBI! simply makes it simpler and faster. And I'm
delighted for them, of course.
But here's what excites the heck out of me about SBI!...
It unlocks what a whole lot of people HAVE, but don't know.
By providing a solid process, the right tools at the right
time, people with BAM (even if it's dormant) will blossom.
Once the foundation is laid, once they understand the
business and the Net, once they work their way through the
inevitable frustrations and setbacks, once traffic starts
and builds, something seems to click and they simply fly
higher and higher.
THAT type of growth and progress excites me like crazy. I
love how SBI! unlocks what people have inside, to deliver
what they truly deserve out of life.
Take-home lesson?
Building a REAL business takes work. BAM (Brain, Attitude,
Motivation) is essential for business success, online or
offline, and only YOU can provide it.
