How He Built a Business Around His Passion to Save His Health

“I had become tired of the stress of the corporate world and it was affecting my health. I didn’t want to be forced to live in a big city and have my days looking much the same for the next twenty years.Andrew Smith

Welcome to A Christmas Carol — SiteSell-style! Each day we’re going to re-introduce one of our successful SBIers and their amazing stories. Like the Ghost of Christmas Past, we’ll revisit these tales of old and see what lessons we can glean.

For this final Christmas story, we’re visiting with Andrew Smith of www.MioMyItaly.com who, even though he was living in one of the most beautiful places in the world – Piedmont, Italy – was suffering.

Smith FamilyAndrew had moved to Italy with his wife and had started to raise a family. He had a good job and was excited to living someplace many of us only dream of.

And yet, every day he was tired and stressed. He wasn’t taking the time to enjoy his family or the Italian countryside, and the non-stop stress was starting to impact his health.

While Andrew’s job was giving him a solid income, he yearned for more. He wanted to have time to explore this wonderful region, watch his new son grow up, and spend his days doing work he was passionate about.

The Change

After years in the business world in Italy I decided that I needed more.
I felt life was passing me by.Andrew Smith

Eventually, Andrew and his wife, who was teaching at the time, came to the same conclusion – if they started a website all about Italy they could spend time exploring and enjoying the magnificent food and people, and then write about their experiences!

It seemed like a wonderful plan, and they figured their dream of being able to quit their jobs and live the life they wanted to would happen shortly.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. Not at first.

They built a website to showcase their passion in Italy and then… nothing happened. There was no traffic, no interest, and without readers there was no business. So that failed.

But Andrew and Maria were determined, so they tried again. And again!

Each time Andrew used a different web-building tool that promised theirs was the one that would deliver success, only to be greeted by abject failure once again.

Finally, nearing the end of their patience and determination, Andrew and Maria discovered Solo Build It!.

Right away, they knew something was different.

Instead of talking about building a website, Solo Build It! talked about building an online business. The courseware walked them through every step toward building an actual business that would achieve actual results.

What’s more, Solo Build It!’s website made no bones about the fact that this was going to be a lot of hard work. And it was! According to Maria, “To be honest the course they put us through was intense – there were times when I came home from work exhausted and thought no way can I do this – Andrew felt the same.”

But then she goes on to say, “I was glad I persevered. I learnt so much and without it I would never have made it.”

And made it they have. They’ve gone on to create two additional businesses, each one building on what they’ve learned, including the growth of tremendous social profiles.

Throughout it all, it was Andrew and Maria’s drive and determination to create a better life for themselves that saw them through their achievements. Something that I think each one of us can relate to and aspire toward.

As we’re whisked away by the Ghost of Christmas Past, back to present-day, overlooking the streets crowded with busy people bustling through the Christmas season, we’re reminded of how important things like family really are.

Just like Ebenezer Scrooge, even we sometimes need to be challenged by such stories in order to truly recognize what’s important to us, and what we need to do to change.

Don’t let another Christmas pass by while your dreams of owning a business fester in your belly like a bit of undigested cheese. Throw open the curtains and renew your lease on life! It doesn’t matter how young or old you are. Now is the time to get started.

With SiteSell’s Holiday Special in full swing, there’s never been a better time.

P.S. When the clock strikes noon on the 29th of December, this sale, too, will be a Ghost of Christmas Past, so don’t wait too long.

Your new business awaits.
